What’s with our sidebars??

If you’re encountering this problem, I apologize.  For reasons I have yet to comprehend, when you first bring up our pages, the sidebars can be found way down at the bottom of the page.  Reload, and they pop right up to their rightful spots.  Know that I’m working on it, and, please, if you have any ideas, don’t be shy about sharing them.  We’re on the gmail, and our username is soundspretty.

Citizen-Times mention

The Asheville Citizen-Times gave us a little shout today — hey, thanks, AC-T!

There’s not ALL that much for y’all to see yet. But we’ve got lots of good stuff and we’re getting more of it online daily.

If you’d like to sign up for our newsletter or are interested in getting involved, email us at soundspretty@gmail.com.

SoundsPretty is almost ready…

…but the process may not be so pretty. Stay tuned.

Chances are that if you’re here, you’ve talked to us about the site (and are as excited as we are?! Right?!). But if you’re wondering what sounds so pretty….

We’re looking to establish an online community that reflects the creative vibrancy of the real community we’re so lucky to be a part of. Outsiders talk wistfully about visits to Asheville and how they’d love to live here (if only they could get jobs!). Well, SoundsPretty is where they plug in to Asheville. And us locals, we want to live Asheville to the fullest, and this is where we stay plugged in…to the amazing people, visual and musical art, stories and goings on around town and beyond.

Asheville certainly gets recognized for all it has to offer (see gushing NYT stories for evidence of that). SoundsPretty wants to make sure that the individual members of our creative community get their due for making Asheville newsworthy and travelworthy. Invited contributors will share art, music, and downloadable commentary, and SoundsPretty will invite its contributors and readers to join the creativity in our Pretty-Along photo and music challenges.

Asheville sure does sound pretty. Mmmhmmm.
